Last night I was at a “See you Later” party for a friend. These are the two drinks that got the most requests when I was behind the bar, so I am putting these recipes here to remember them and to find them quickly next time. And you know, so you can also try them…
HI LADIES
- 8 fresh mint leaves
- 15 ml sugar syrup
- 22.5 ml fresh lime juice
- 60 ml vodka
Muddle mint in shaker, stir in sugar syrup and lime juice
Add ice and vodka and shake
Fine strain over ice and serve in Coupe Glass (or in plastic cups with your name on them like we did)
OLD CUBAN
- 6 fresh mint leaves
- 15 ml sugar syrup
- 22.5 ml fresh lime juice
- 45 ml aged rum
- 2 dash bitters
- Champagne to top up
Muddle mint in shaker, stir in sugar syrup and lime juice
Add ice, rum and bitters and shake
Fine strain, top with champagne and serve in Coupe Glass (or in plastic cups with your name on them like we did)
Dalby note: The first time I made an Old Cuban during quarantine, it was just ok. But last night I used Diplomatico Planas light rum and it was delicious
